Well I’ve managed to get to my to do list and made some new newborn props, a larger stork pouch, headbands, leg warmers, hats, and cocoon. I’ve also added a couple new backdrops to my supplies. In hopes to get Ava more interested in having her picture taken, I thought I’d have her help me with taking photos of my new props with her baby doll. I want to be able to show what props I have available for the newborn sessions anyway and Ava has a new baby doll that she got for her birthday that could work for a model (although not as flexible as a real newborn).
Ava let me put a headband/leg warmer set on her baby doll, then pose her in a basket, got a few shots off before Ava picked up her baby doll. Managed to change out to the next headband/leg warmer set again, got a few shots off before the doll was gone from the basket again. We then put on a hat and leg warmer set, got only two shots before Ava had her baby wanting to change the outfit. I then used the cocoon/hat set (which is Ava's favorite) as soon as I got the doll all set with the outfit Ava took her baby over to my children's chairs that I have for props and moved them around until she got to the wicker chair, sat down and started rocking her baby. I talked her into letting me move the chair over the my studio light set up. She sat down with her baby and let me take some pictures of her with her baby. After I got about a dozen shots of her with the doll, she had enough of that and took off. You can see the change in her interest as I photographed her in the pictures below. The last photo she looks like, enough already. At that point I finished taking photos of the new items, plus a few of my other newborn/infant props that I have without Ava being my assistant.
